The Constitutional Court says yes to the conflict of powers with the Milanese judges on the Abu Omar case

The Council declares admissible the conflict of attribution between state powers raised by Palazzo Chigi against the sentence issued by the Milan Court of Appeal in the Abu Omar case. According to the Court, state secrecy serves to safeguard national security and its protection is entrusted to the Council of Ministers under the control of Parliament. The imam was kidnapped in Milan by the CIA with the help of the Italian secret services in an extraordinary rendition operation. (attached the order 244/13 of the Constitutional Court).

I thank the Head of the Legal and Legislative Affairs Department and the Deputy Secretary General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers for having invited me, as, moreover, had already happened on the occasion of the presentation of the previous reports to Parliament, to make a brief speech on the occasion of this important study meeting.

The EU Tribunal cancels the calls in only three languages

Italy obtains, in case T-142/08 with the sentence of 12 September 2013 of the Fifth Section of the Court of the European Union, an important victory in the hard-fought question of languages in the competitions of the Union itself.
The canceled tenders included:
“A satisfactory knowledge of German, English or French ('second language');
"The admission tests would be held in German, English or French";
"Two of the three written tests (...) would be held in German, English or French, as well as the oral test and the interview".

Renewed the agreement between the Revenue and the State Advocacy for the better management of tax disputes

The collaboration between the State Advocacy and the Revenue Agency is renewed. Objective: to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of the management of tax disputes. The new memorandum of understanding for the three-year period 2013-2016, signed on 10 September 2013 by the Advocate General of the State, Michele Giuseppe Dipace, and by the Director of the Revenue Agency, Attilio Befera, confirms and consolidates the collaboration between the two bodies in the tax litigation sector, an integral part of the fight against tax evasion.

Nineteenth century in the State Advocacy

Every Friday - from 15.00 to 17.00 - a permanent exhibition is open to the public, for the first time, in the headquarters of the District Attorney of Naples. A large group of nineteenth-century works from the Capodimonte Museum and from Royal Palace of Naples, deposited in the representative offices of the Avvocatura since the 1930s: little known or never seen paintings and prints.
